The Apiary

WJR honeybee.png

At Wild Juniper Ranch, our apiary is home to four new top-bar hives, each reflecting a deep commitment to natural, treatment-free beekeeping. This approach is inspired by our neighbors at  Bee Mindful in Driftwood and our apprenticeship with world-renowned beekeeper Les Crowder, a pioneer in organic apiculture who has dedicated over 45 years to developing chemical-free methods that prioritize bee health and natural hive behavior .

Buzzing with Heritage

Backyard beekeepers now outnumber commercial operations, contributing significantly to pollination and biodiversity . Our apiary not only honors our ancestors—who transported bees westward in skeps by covered wagon—but also serves as a living testament to sustainable practices. By focusing on holistic hive health and environmental stewardship, we aim to support both our bees and the broader ecosystem.

Honeycomb Dreams

We’re working toward a sweet future—offering small-batch honey, beeswax products, and apitheraphy wellness goods straight from our hives. We also hope to support others on their beekeeping journey, with future services to help you establish your own natural, backyard apiary, but first let us get ours buzzing with success.
